Beinn Eighe

Torridonian peak with one of Scotland's finest corries

As you drive from Torridon village towards Kinlochewe, Liathach looms to your left. Where it ends and the Beinn Eighe range begins, a car park marks the start of a track between the two mountains. Follow it past the col and take the right fork into Coire Mhic Fhearchair — a dramatic triple-buttressed corrie with a dark lochan at its base, rivalled only by An Teallach's Coire Toll an Lochan for the title of Scotland's finest.

The walk to the corrie is worth doing even if you go no further. If you do want to continue, the ridge walk along Beinn Eighe's tops is superb but exposed. Public transport is scarce, so unless you have two cars for a point-to-point traverse, plan to retrace your steps or descend back into Glen Torridon.
