White Castle is one of the best-preserved of the Three Castles east of Abergavenny, with a strong curtain wall, towers, and a broad moat still giving a clear sense of the medieval border fortress. It works well as a short countryside stop, especially if combined with nearby Skenfrith and Grosmont.
