Christ College

Tudor-era school with historic buildings linked to Henry VIII's dissolution of the monasteries.

Christ College was founded in 1541, after Henry VIII dissolved the monasteries. The school still occupies a cluster of historic buildings on Bridge Street, giving Brecon another layer of Tudor and church history.

It is a gentle stop rather than a headline attraction. Pair it with the cathedral and the river for a fuller sense of how old Brecon grew around religion, education, and the crossing of the Usk.
