Anglesey Arms

The Anglesey Arms sits on the quay just outside the town walls, in a long, plain stone building that was once the harbourmaster's offices. The bar inside is small and conventional; the point is the long terrace and beer garden directly on the slipway, which has one of the best views in north Wales — straight across the Menai Strait to Anglesey, with the castle rising out of the water a few yards to the south.

Sunset on a clear evening is the right time to be here. Beer is the focus; food is pub standard. The terrace fills up fast on warm evenings, and there are no reservations.
