Womanby Street

Womanby Street is one of Cardiff's oldest streets — the name appears in records from the 12th century — and has reinvented itself as the city's live music hub. A short, narrow street running alongside Cardiff Castle, it now holds more music venues per metre than anywhere in Wales. Clwb Ifor Bach, Fuel, The Moon and several others between them put on local and touring bands most nights of the week.

The street survived an attempt to permit a residential development next door (which would have required noise restrictions killing the music venues) after a prolonged public campaign in 2018–2019. It remains the heart of Cardiff's independent music scene and a good place to spend a Friday or Saturday night without spending very much money.
