Llangollen has no railway station — the nearest mainline stations are at Wrexham (about 12 miles east) and Chirk (7 miles east). From both, local buses run to Llangollen, though services are infrequent. The Llangollen Railway, a preserved steam line, runs east from Llangollen to Carrog and Corwen, but does not connect to the mainline network.
By car, Llangollen is on the A5 road in north-east Wales, about 12 miles west of Wrexham, an hour from Chester, and around three hours from London. The town sits in a narrow valley and parking can be tight in summer; arrive early or use the car parks on the outskirts.
