St Collen's Church

St Collen's Church stands close to the centre of Llangollen and gives the town its name. The church is linked to St Collen, a 6th-century holy man, though the building has grown far beyond the early stone cell traditionally associated with him.

The main reasons to step inside are the stained glass and the 15th-century carved timber roof, said locally to include wood from nearby Valle Crucis Abbey. It is a short, worthwhile stop while walking through town, especially if you are already tracing Llangollen's medieval sites.
