Llyn Tegid, often called Bala Lake in English, is the largest natural lake in Wales. It stretches southwest from town, with open water, mountain views, sailing, swimming, and easy shoreline stops.
The lake is broad enough to feel wild in rough weather and gentle enough to work for a simple picnic on a calm day. If you only have an hour in Bala, spend it by the water.
