Snowdonia is walking country above all else. The park holds fifteen peaks over 3,000 feet, and the Welsh 3000s challenge — linking them all in a single day — is one of the classic British mountain routes. The terrain ranges from gentle lakeside strolls to serious scrambles along the Crib Goch knife-edge ridge.
Beyond the summits, there is mountain biking on forest trails, kayaking on Llyn Padarn, and rock climbing at dozens of crags. The Snowdon Mountain Railway offers a gentler way to the top for those who prefer wheels to boots.
