Tenby makes an excellent base for the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Manorbier, with its castle and surf beach, is fifteen minutes west by car. Pembroke and its huge medieval castle (birthplace of Henry VII) is half an hour away. Saundersfoot, just up the coast, has another good beach and a small harbour. The Caldey Island boat trip described in Things to Do is itself the most popular day out from town.
