Things to Do

Wrexham became a city in 2022, and its main cultural draw remains what it's always been: St Giles' Church, whose Gothic tower is one of the Seven Wonders of Wales, and Erddig Hall, the National Trust house remarkable for preserving the records of its servants as well as its owners. The Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is an easy day trip. Since 2020, the city has also gained an unlikely claim to fame as the home of Wrexham AFC, the world's oldest international football club, whose purchase by Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney brought the club back to the English Football League after a 15-year absence.
