The yacht club is the social heart of Staniel: a wooden dock-side restaurant with a bar that fills at sunset, fed by visiting yachties, pilots in for the weekend, and locals on a Friday night. The menu does conch (cracked, fried, salad), grouper fingers, lobster in season, and the obligatory burger.
Reservations are essential for dinner — book in person or by VHF radio on arrival. The bar serves the Goombay Smash that the islands take credit for inventing, even if everyone else does too. Cash and cards are both accepted, but the wifi is unreliable and the prices match the difficulty of getting anything to the island.
