Calgary Tower

Panoramic views from a 190-metre observation tower

Standing 190 metres tall at the corner of 9th Avenue and Centre Street, the Calgary Tower has been a city landmark since 1968. The observation deck offers 360-degree views of the downtown skyline, the prairies stretching east, and the Rocky Mountain foothills to the west. On a clear day you can see individual peaks over 100 kilometres away.

The glass floor section on the observation deck is not for the faint of heart -- you are looking straight down to the street below. The revolving Panorama Dining Room serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner with those same views rotating slowly past your table, and the Tops lounge is a good spot for a pre-dinner cocktail. The tower is lit in different colours for holidays and events throughout the year.
