Coquitlam City Hall is the seat of the Coquitlam municipal government, on the western edge of Town Centre Park. The current building opened in 1996 and is a representative example of West Coast 1990s civic architecture — a low-rise structure of red brick, green metal roofing and substantial use of glass, designed to read as a community building rather than a bureaucratic tower.
The interior includes the council chamber (open to the public during meetings), an exhibition space that frequently shows local artists, and the Coquitlam Heritage Society's small archive of historical material. The building is also a significant arts venue: a regular programme of free lunchtime concerts uses the atrium, and the building's substantial public art collection includes works by Bill Reid and other British Columbian artists.
The building is open during business hours, and free to enter. It is a 3-minute walk from Lafarge Lake–Douglas SkyTrain station.
