Golden Skybridge

The Golden Skybridge attraction opened in 2021 and quickly became a must-visit for travellers passing through. The two suspension bridges cross a dramatic canyon just west of Golden, offering vertiginous views down to the river below and out across the Columbia Valley. The experience is enhanced by a zipline, a giant swing, and interpretive trails through the surrounding forest.

The attraction is a commercial operation with an admission fee, but the engineering is genuinely impressive and the site is well-managed. It is suitable for most ages, though the narrow bridges and open mesh flooring can unsettle those with a fear of heights. The summer opening period roughly aligns with the general tourism season in Golden, and the site can be busy on weekends — weekday visits are more relaxed.

A story
The Golden Skybridge opened in 2021 and immediately became one of BC's most talked-about new attractions. The two suspension bridges span a canyon carved by a tributary of the Kicking Horse River, with the lower bridge hanging 80 metres above the canyon floor and the upper bridge at 130 metres — the highest suspension bridges in Canada.
