Kicking Horse Pedestrian Bridge

Covered timber footbridge spanning the Kicking Horse River in central Golden

Golden built its covered pedestrian bridge as both a practical river crossing and a statement of local craft. The long timber span crosses the Kicking Horse River near the town centre, framing views of the water, rail lines, and surrounding mountains.

It is an easy, worthwhile pause if you are breaking the drive between Yoho, Glacier, and the Rockies. The bridge is especially good in late afternoon, when the light catches the river and the town feels more like a mountain community than a highway stop.
