Alexandra Bridge Provincial Park preserves a dramatic crossing of the Fraser Canyon, including the 1926 suspension bridge that once carried the Cariboo Wagon Road route. The bridge is no longer used for highway traffic, so visitors can walk onto it and look down into the river gorge.
It is a short stop rather than a long hike, but a worthwhile one if you are following the canyon north from Hope. The combination of engineering, gold-rush-era route history, and Fraser River scenery makes it more than just a roadside pullout.
