Tree Brewing is Kelowna's original craft brewery, founded in 1996, and the Beer Institute on Water Street is its main taproom — a large, casual space on the waterfront with a good view and a rotating selection of Tree's core beers and seasonal brews alongside guest taps. The Spy Porter and Amber Ale are the standards; the seasonal IPA and summer wheat beers are worth trying when available.
The location on Water Street puts it within easy walking distance of the downtown restaurants and the Kelowna waterfront. The taproom is busy on summer evenings and quieter in shoulder season, when it's a good place to decompress after a day in the vineyards or on the trails. 1346 Water Street, open daily from noon.
