Lillooet is accessible by two scenic routes. From Vancouver and Whistler, the Duffey Lake Road (Highway 99) is the most dramatic approach — a gorgeous drive through alpine terrain that takes about three hours from Vancouver or one hour from Whistler. The road is closed in winter.
From Kamloops or Cache Creek, Highway 12 follows the Thompson and Fraser rivers through increasingly dramatic canyon country. This route is open year-round and takes about two hours from Cache Creek.
There's no passenger train service, and no scheduled bus service reaches Lillooet. You need a car. The town has fuel, and basic supplies are available, but for major provisions stock up in Whistler, Kamloops, or Hope before arriving.
