Lillooet's appeal is mainly outdoor: the Fraser River canyon, the surrounding mountains, backcountry hiking, and the dramatic dry landscape that surprises visitors who only know wet coastal BC. The town itself has a few historical sites worth seeing, particularly for anyone interested in the Gold Rush era and the Indigenous St'át'imc culture of the region. The surroundings offer jade hunting, river rafting, and some of the most underrated hiking in southern BC.
