Lonsdale Quay Market

Address 123 Carrie Cates Court

Lonsdale Quay is the public market built around the SeaBus ferry terminal at the foot of Lonsdale Avenue. It is a two-storey covered hall with a row of small food vendors, a cluster of independent restaurants, a few craft and gift shops, and an outdoor amphitheatre on the water side that hosts free music and outdoor films in summer.

For visitors, the appeal is the easy combination of a 12-minute SeaBus ride from downtown Vancouver with a place to eat, drink, and look back across the harbour at the city skyline. The food court is genuinely good for the format: fish and chips at Fresh St Market, dim sum at Cheese & Crackers, decent ramen at Hapa Izakaya. The outdoor seating along the quay is the best place for a beer in the late afternoon.

The market is open daily from 9:00 to 19:00 (food vendors longer). The ferry terminal connects every 12 minutes (every 15 in off-peak) to Waterfront Station in downtown Vancouver — one of the best deals in the city at the standard transit fare.
