Getting There

Revelstoke sits on the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1), 560 km east of Vancouver and 290 km west of Calgary — roughly six hours from Vancouver and three and a half from Calgary by car. The highway through Rogers Pass is spectacular but requires care in winter; chains or winter tires are mandatory, and the pass is occasionally closed for avalanche control.

There is no commercial air service. The nearest airports are Kelowna (2.5 hours west), Kamloops (2 hours west), and Calgary International (3.5 hours east). Most visitors drive. Via Rail's Canadian stops at Revelstoke station on its transcontinental route (Toronto to Vancouver), but services are infrequent — typically three times per week in each direction.

Greyhound no longer serves the route, but private shuttle services run between Revelstoke and Kelowna, Kamloops, and Calgary, particularly during ski season.
