Getting There

Whistler is 120 kilometres north of Vancouver on Highway 99, the Sea to Sky Highway. The drive takes about 1.5 to 2 hours in normal conditions, though the road can be slow in heavy snow or on peak ski weekends when everyone is heading up on Friday afternoon. The highway is scenic and well-maintained, passing through Squamish and along the cliffs above Howe Sound.

Whistler Shuttle and other operators run daily bus services between Vancouver International Airport and Whistler Village. The journey takes about three hours and is reasonably priced; this is the recommended option if you are arriving by air without a car. BC Rail formerly ran a famous excursion train up the Sea to Sky corridor, but passenger rail service to Whistler was discontinued; the tracks are now used only for freight.
