Resurgo Place is Moncton's main museum, a hybrid science centre and city-history museum housed in a modern building on Mountain Road just up from downtown. The city-history galleries trace Moncton's growth from a Mi'kmaq fishing and meeting place through the era of wooden shipbuilding (which collapsed when steel hulls took over), the arrival of the railway, and the Acadian cultural revival of the 20th century.
The science wing has hands-on exhibits aimed at children, with a tilt toward transportation and engineering. It is one of the better wet-weather options in town and an easy combined visit with the downtown core. Closed Mondays in low season.
