Moncton's bilingual character shows up most cleanly in its food. The downtown strip has a mix of Acadian seafood places, French-Canadian bistros, English-style pubs, and a steady stream of newer kitchens drawing on Lebanese, Vietnamese, and other immigrant traditions. Lobster, snow crab, and Acadian rappie pie (a slow-baked grated-potato dish) all make occasional appearances on menus.
