Trout River Pond is a long, narrow lake tucked against the Tablelands, with roadside views that feel much bigger than the effort required. It is a good stop before or after Trout River village.
The scenery is stark and quiet, especially in late-day light. Bring a picnic if the wind is not too fierce.
