The Suncor Energy Fluvarium is a small nature centre beside Nagle's Hill Brook, focused on the freshwater systems that run through St John's and the wider Newfoundland landscape. Its underwater viewing windows are the main draw, letting visitors look into a living stream rather than a tank.
It works particularly well with children, but adults interested in local ecology will also get something from it. The visit is short and best combined with nearby parks or a walk around Long Pond and the university area, where the city quickly gives way to bog, spruce and rock.
