Getting Around

Oakville Transit runs local bus routes connecting the main residential and commercial areas, with hubs at Oakville GO Station, Trafalgar Road, and the Uptown Core. The network is useful for getting between the station and central areas but is not frequent enough to rely on for exploring the whole town.

Most visitors use a car. The town is spread out — Old Oakville and the waterfront, Bronte Village, the Uptown Core, and the Ford manufacturing district are all distinct zones separated by suburban thoroughfares. A car makes it much easier to move between them.

The waterfront trail and the Sixteen Mile Creek trail system are well-maintained and good for cycling, connecting several parks and the lake shore.
