Nonquon Provincial Wildlife Area protects wetland, forest, and open country northwest of Port Perry. It is not a manicured park, which is the appeal: birding, quiet walking, and a sense of the low, watery landscape around Lake Scugog.
Go prepared for simple trails and seasonal wet ground. For many visitors, it is the best way to make a Scugog day feel less like only shopping and lunch.
