Gatineau is usually reached through Ottawa. Ottawa International Airport is the main air gateway, and VIA Rail serves Ottawa with frequent trains from Montréal and Toronto. From downtown Ottawa, bridges lead directly into Hull and central Gatineau.
Intercity buses also use the Ottawa-Gatineau corridor. Drivers from Montréal typically follow Autoroute 50 or the Ontario-side routes through Ottawa, depending on traffic and final destination.
