Pointe Merry is the obvious place to understand Magog: a green point at the mouth of the river, with Lake Memphremagog opening out in front of you. The paths, lawns, beach, and cruise dock make it the town's public front room in warm weather.
It is not a grand sight, but it gives Magog its rhythm. Come early for quiet water and views toward the mountains, or late in the day when the town drifts down to the shore.
