Carré Saint-Louis is a small square at the edge of the Plateau, framed by colourful Victorian row houses and close to the Prince Arthur pedestrian strip. It has fountains, paths, benches, and just enough shade to make it a pleasant pause between Saint-Denis and the quieter residential streets.
It is not a destination on the scale of Mount Royal or Parc La Fontaine, but it is a handsome little piece of Montreal street life. Many sketches from the television show Just for Laughs: Gags were filmed around the square.
