The municipal beach is Saint-Irénée's easiest pleasure: a long strip of sand and river stones on the St. Lawrence, backed by the steep Charlevoix hillside. It is a place for a picnic, a swim on a warm day, or a slow walk at low tide.
Kayaking and paddleboarding are possible when conditions are calm, and the nearby capelin jetty gives a simple viewpoint over the bay. The water is cold and tidal, so treat it like a river mouth rather than a resort beach.
