La Cité de l'énergie is the reason many travellers stop in Shawinigan. It uses the city's hydroelectric past well, with exhibitions, an observation tower, industrial heritage, and guided visits that make dams and power stations feel connected to the life of the city.
The site is seasonal and more involved than a quick museum stop, so check what is running before you go. When the full programme is open, it is one of the stronger industrial-history attractions in Québec.
