The most obvious day trip from North Battleford is Battlefords Provincial Park, 40 km north on Jackfish Lake. It has 4 km of sand beach, good walleye and pike fishing, hiking trails through boreal-edge forest, and a campground if you want to extend the trip to an overnight. In summer it is the go-to escape for the whole region; arrive early on hot weekends.
