Battleford Bridge

The Old Bridge — properly the Battleford Bridge — is an eight-span steel-truss highway bridge that crossed the North Saskatchewan River from 1908 onward, the original road link between North Battleford and Battleford. It has been closed to vehicle traffic and is now a pedestrian crossing with the most photogenic river views in the area.

Walk it at sunset for the best light on the truss work and the cottonwood-lined banks. Interpretive panels at both ends cover the bridge's construction and its role in stitching the two towns together over more than a century.
