Jacó sells adrenaline: ATVs into the hills, ziplines, waterfall rappels and surf lessons, all bookable from the main street on the day.
The beach in front of town is a forgiving learner's wave and a poor experienced one — the better surf is at Playa Hermosa ten minutes south, which is where the contests are held. The Tortuga Island boats also leave from here and from Herradura next door.
