Jacó is the weekend beach for San José and sells itself on adrenaline. Adventure Tours runs the local version of all of it — ATV trips into the hills behind town, ziplines, waterfall rappels and surf lessons on the beach break — out of a shop on Calle Samudio.
The beach here is a forgiving learner's wave and a poor experienced one; the better surf is at Playa Hermosa, ten minutes south.
