The Los Sueños marina complex anchors the north end of Herradura Bay with a full-service marina, restaurants, shops, and the Marriott resort behind it. Even if you are not staying at the resort or booking a fishing charter, the marina is worth walking around — the boats are impressive, the pelicans are brazen, and the palm-lined boulevard along the waterfront gives a flavour of what Pacific coast resort development looks like at its more polished end.
Sport fishing is the marina's raison d'être. Dozens of fully equipped fishing boats operate out of here targeting sailfish, marlin, yellowfin tuna, and mahi-mahi. Charters run half-day and full-day, and the marina has a cleaning station and captains who know the local waters well. Even if you have no interest in fishing, the spectacle of the catch being brought in in the late afternoon is memorable.
