One of the largest art collections in the Caribbean, split across two buildings. The Cuban Art building on Trocadero holds paintings and engravings from the 16th century onward, tracing the island's artistic development from colonial-era portraits through to bold contemporary work. The Universal Art building, housed in the former Centro Asturiano on the Parque Central, covers European masters -- Rubens, Murillo, Goya -- alongside one of Latin America's most significant collections of Egyptian, Greek, and Roman antiquities.
Both buildings have been thoroughly renovated and the display spaces are well laid out. Allow at least a couple of hours if you want to see both. Admission is around $5 CUC per building.
