Fábrica de Arte Cubano

The Fábrica de Arte Cubano (FAC) is the most exciting cultural venue in Havana — a former cooking oil factory in Vedado converted into a multi-floor exhibition, performance, and party space. Founded by musician X Alfonso, it opened in 2014 and has become the hub of Havana's contemporary cultural life. On Thursday through Sunday evenings, the FAC fills with young Cubans and visitors moving between galleries, cinema screens, live music stages, and a rooftop bar.

The programming changes weekly and covers contemporary visual art, film, performance, and music. The art is serious — this is not a tourist cultural centre but a real contemporary art venue. The bar and club elements mean the evening extends until late. Entry is a few dollars and includes access to everything. One of the genuine highlights of a Havana visit.
