Ferry to Regla

The small ferry from the dock near the Plaza de San Francisco in Old Havana crosses to Regla in about 10 minutes — one of the cheapest and most atmospheric short trips available in Havana. The boats are old and the crossing is brief, but the views of the Havana waterfront from the water are among the best you can get, particularly in the late afternoon when the light turns the city facades gold.

The ferry runs throughout the day and costs almost nothing in Cuban pesos. Regla is worth visiting on its own account (for the church and the Santería atmosphere), and the ferry return gives a different view of the harbour from the Havana side.
