Dominica has two airports. Douglas-Charles Airport (DOM, also called Melville Hall) on the northeast coast is the larger of the two and handles most inter-island traffic. It is about one hour from Roseau by road. Canefield Airport sits just north of Roseau and is used by small charter and inter-island flights.
Neither airport can handle wide-body jets. Most international visitors connect through Antigua, Barbados, St. Lucia, Puerto Rico, Guadeloupe, or Martinique. American Airlines has offered direct Miami service; United has run weekly flights from Newark. LIAT provides regional connections, though its schedule and reliability have been inconsistent — confirm current routes before booking.
A new international airport capable of handling larger aircraft was under construction as of 2025, with an expected opening around 2027.
