Boca Chica is principally a beach town. Beyond the beach itself, the main draws are the water sports (snorkelling on the reef, windsurfing in the lagoon), the Sunday atmosphere when half of Santo Domingo arrives with music and food, and the nightlife along Calle Duarte. It is not a town with museums or monuments — what it offers is sand, sea, and a particular slice of Dominican recreational culture.
