Kite Beach sits about a kilometre east of the town centre, separated from Cabarete's main beach by a small headland. The trade winds blow side-onshore here almost year-round, creating conditions that work for all levels: a reef 300 metres offshore creates a zone of flat, shallow water ideal for beginners, while experienced riders head beyond it for bigger swells. Most days the wind picks up around 11:00 and holds strong through to 16:00.
Several kiteschools operate from the beach, renting equipment and offering lessons for first-timers and improvement courses for those who already know the basics. The beach itself is wide and sandy with good depth for launching and landing. June brings the strongest winds, often 25–30 knots, and coincides with the international kiteboarding events that draw competitors from around the world.
