La Boca is a river mouth about 6 kilometres east of Cabarete where the Yasica River meets the sea, creating a sheltered lagoon with glassy, flat water. Kitesurfers come here specifically for freestyle practice — without the reef chop of Kite Beach, it's possible to practise water starts, jumps, and tricks on a smooth surface. The flat water also makes it a good spot for complete beginners to try their first sessions.
The setting is quieter than the main beach strip: there's no development to speak of, just the river mouth, some mangroves, and the occasional local fishing boat. Reaching it requires a short drive east along the coastal road.
