Parque Mirador del Sur

The Parque Mirador del Sur is a long, narrow park running along the southern cliffs of Santo Domingo above the Caribbean Sea, stretching about 8 kilometres from east to west. It is the main outdoor recreational space for the southern part of the city — early mornings see joggers, cyclists, and rollerbladers on the paths, and evenings bring families and couples for the sea views.

The park's cliffs drop directly to the water, and there are several access points where you can scramble down to the rocks for swimming. The caves in the cliff face below the park are the same limestone karst system that appears at Los Tres Ojos. The western section of the park, near the Faro a Colón, offers the best views of the coastline.
