Laguna Verde is Apaneca's signature outing, a small volcanic lake tucked into the high ground north of town. The water is not a grand alpine-blue spectacle; it is quieter than that, green-edged and often wrapped in mist, with coffee farms and forest close by.
Most visitors reach it by ATV, buggy, bicycle, or a short guided drive from Apaneca. Walking is possible if you are comfortable with steep roads and changeable weather. Go in the morning for clearer views and fewer afternoon clouds.
