Bocana El Cordoncillo is one of the tidal mouths linking the Jaltepeque estuary with the Pacific. It is a place of currents, sandbars, birds, and boat traffic rather than a conventional attraction.
Visit only with someone who knows the water. Conditions change with the tide, and this is a much better boat-viewing stop than a casual swimming place.
