Playa Las Flores is the wave that gives El Cuco its travel weight. The right-hand point break peels across a pretty crescent of sand just west of the village, with long rides when the south swell is working and gentler sections that can suit improving surfers.
You do not need to surf to enjoy the place, but the beach makes most sense through the rhythm of boards, tides, and early starts. It is quieter than El Tunco and the La Libertad coast, and that is exactly why many surfers come this far east.
